Our Headliner this year is Chinaka Hodge, also a Def Jam Poet and hailing from Oakland, CA! We are pleased to bring her to our school to bless us with her talent.

The prostate is central to the portion of a male's the reproductive system. It secretes fluids that aid in the transportation and activation of sperm. The men's prostate can be found just in front of the rectum, below the bladder and surrounding the urethra. When there is prostate problem, it is almost always really really irritating and inconvenient for that patient as his urinary strategy is directly affected.

The common prostate health problems are prostate infection, enlarged prostate and cancer of the prostate.



Prostate infection, also called prostatitis, is the most common prostate-related symptom in men younger than 55 years. Infections with the men's prostate are classified into four types - acute bacterial prostatitis, chronic bacterial prostatitis, chronic abacterial prostatitis and prosttodynia.

Acute bacterial prostatitis could be the least common of most varieties of prostate infection. It is caused by bacteria located in the large intestines or urinary tract. Patients may go through fever, chills, body aches, back pains and urination problems. This condition is treated by using antibiotics or non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to ease the swelling.

Chronic bacterial prostatitis is a condition of the particular defect within the gland along with the persistence presence of bacteria in the urinary tract. It can be due to trauma to the urinary tract or by infections originating from other areas in the body. A patient may feel testicular pain, back pains and urination problems. Although it is uncommon, it can be treated by removal with the prostate defect followed by the employment antibiotics and NSAIDs to take care of the inflammation.

Non-bacterial prostatitis accounts for approximately 90% of most prostatitis cases; however, researchers have not even to determine what causes these conditions. Some researchers believe chronic non-bacterial prostatitis occur as a result of unknown infectious agents while other feel that intensive exercise and heavy lifting can cause these infections.

Maintaining a Healthy Prostate

To prevent prostate diseases, a proper diet is important. These are some in the steps you can take and also hardwearing . prostate healthy.

1. Drink sufficient water. Proper hydration is necessary for our health and wellbeing and this will also keep your urinary track clean.

2. Some studies claim that a couple of ejaculations a week will help to prevent prostate type of cancer.

3. Eat beef moderately. It has been shown that consuming greater than four meals of beef per week will raise the chance of prostate diseases and cancer.

4. Maintain an appropriate diet with cereals, vegetable and fruits to ensure sufficient intake of nutrients necessary for prostate health.

The most critical measure to look at to make sure a proper prostate would be to select regular prostate health screening. If you are forty years of age and above, you must go for prostate examination at least annually.
